
Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, has secured a spot in the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket Championship in Angola. They achieved this by winning all three games in the final qualifying window held in Tripoli, Libya.
In their opening match, D’Tigers edged out Libya with a 75-70 victory, demonstrating resilience by overcoming a halftime deficit. They continued their strong performance with an 87-67 win over Uganda, setting the stage for their final and decisive game. Facing Cape Verde, the team delivered a commanding 77-62 victory, with Caleb Agada leading the charge by contributing 23 points and six assists. This series of wins ensured D’Tigers finished among the top three teams in Group B, thereby clinching their qualification for the AfroBasket 2025 tournament.
