Anambra native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu better known as Akwa Okuko hit with six charges by the Anambra state government: alleged involvement in money ritual practices, suspected ties to drug dealers , preparing charms for Kidnappers and among others, faces 20 years in prison , his hotel risk demolition and properties risk confiscation.

As of February 26, 2025, there have been no official reports confirming that Anambra native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko, has been formally charged with six offenses, including alleged involvement in money ritual practices, suspected ties to drug dealers, and preparing charms for kidnappers. While he was arrested earlier this month by the Anambra State security outfit, Agunechemba, and interrogated by Deputy Governor Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, specific charges have not been publicly disclosed. During the interrogation, Nwangwu denied involvement in the practice of ‘Oke Ite,’ a ritual associated with wealth accumulation. Human rights lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor has criticized the arrest, describing it as an unlawful detention and a violation of Nwangwu’s fundamental rights. There have been no official statements regarding a potential 20-year prison sentence, demolition of his hotel, or confiscation of his properties.
