Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Spanish Football Federation, has been fined €10,800 (approximately $11,300) for forcibly kissing player Jenni Hermoso during the 2023 Women’s World Cup awards ceremony. The court also imposed a one-year restraining order, prohibiting Rubiales from contacting Hermoso or approaching within 200 meters of her. He was acquitted of coercion charges related to allegations of pressuring Hermoso to publicly support his version of events. Rubiales plans to appeal the verdict.
