“Asia’s most beautiful island aims for 17 million tourist arrivals in 2025”

The provincial authorities of Bali, voted Asia’s most beautiful island, are targeting 17 million tourist arrivals in 2025, including 6.5 million international visitors, according to Tjok Bagus Pemayun, head of the provincial Tourism Office.

He stated that the target is realistic, given that foreign arrivals in the province reached approximately 6.3 million last year. The goal for domestic tourist visits is set at 10.5 million.

Tjok Bagus Pemayun outlined that the challenges in 2025 will include managing issues that affect foreign arrivals, such as congestion, waste management, and land use conversion.

The provincial authorities plan to strengthen law enforcement measures while also acting as regulators and facilitators, expecting support from tourism stakeholders to address these challenges.

To attract more foreign tourists, the Bali Tourism Office has launched the 2025 Calendar of Events, featuring 54 events, 45 of which are cultural, including the ogoh-ogoh (giant effigies) parade in March and the Bali International Air Show in September.

In October, Bali was named the most beautiful island in Asia by readers of Condé Nast Traveler in its Readers’ Choice Awards.
