Romeo Lavia is unable to participate in Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League final against Real Betis due to UEFA’s player registration rules. Although Lavia meets the age requirement for List B, which allows clubs to register an unlimited number of young players, he doesn’t satisfy the criteria that mandate a player must have been with the club for at least two uninterrupted years or three total years with limited loan spells. Since Lavia joined Chelsea from Southampton in August 2023, he hasn’t been at the club long enough to qualify for List B. Additionally, he wasn’t included in Chelsea’s List A squad submitted to UEFA, making him ineligible for the final. Chelsea. www.multilinks.biz
Throughout the season, Lavia’s contributions have been limited due to ankle and hamstring injuries, totaling just 18 appearances. He did make a substitute appearance in the final Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, which secured Chelsea’s Champions League qualification. Despite traveling with the team and training ahead of the match in Wroclaw, UEFA’s registration rules prevent him from featuring in the final. www.multilinks.biz
